Dear Fraters:
I'm excited to share we're off and running with a newly formed Board of Advisors for the Delta Zeta Chapter! To my knowledge, and feeble recollection, we've never had a Board of Advisors - at least not a fully functioning one. It's a great step in the right direction for the betterment of the Chapter and our long-term success at SEMO. Though they'll be meeting to organize, select officers and begin the journey the following Fraters have stepped up and volunteered their time and talent for the greater good and advancement of the brotherhood: Frater Tom Meyer Frater Chance Ziegler Frater Greg Johnson Frater Zach Buchheit Frater Cooper Smith Frater John Lohr The Board of Advisors is designed as the "30,000 Feet" view/macro vision facilitators for the Chapter. I think of them as the Board of Directors to the CEO/Chapter Advisor with the alumni as shareholders. It'll be a valuable edition to have this body involved and adding their insights, experiences and diverse views. Please share with the Alumni Association this great news! Ask them to please share their appreciation and gratitude with these Fraters at their first opportunity. What a great day in Tau Kappa Epsilon! Your contributions are greatly appreciated by both the Alumni Association, as well as the DZ Chapter. Thanks to those who have already paid. Submitted by: Frater Elledge Dear Fraters,
As of May 22, I became president of the DZ TKE alumni association. I thank Dave Duckworth for his three years of being president and Bill Brengle for the two years before that. Dave has agreed to continue his support by being Vice President. I will do my best with the new position, but will be limited due to other obligations and interests. I plan to focus on four main goals as president: 1- continue to support the chapter, so as to help them grow and improve. 2- continue to support the alumni association scholarship program and find ways to help it grow. 3- find ways to increase and improve alumni involvement and support. 4- get an online payment system set up, so as to help make payments for alumni dues and events more convenient. I’m sure there are many other goals that could be pursued, but it will be easier for me to do my job if I keep the number low and basic. The other officers: Dick Gettinger- VP 2014 and treasurer 2015-present; Ross Rosenberg- treasurer in 2014; Larry Snopek- secretary; Mike Conway- Histor from 2014-2018; and Matt Henson- chapter advisor, have been the officers during the 5 years since we restarted the alumni association. Understandably, they are ready to hand their roles over to different alumni. Please personal message or email me at beelledge@gmail.com if anyone is interested or willing to take over any of their roles. As an alumni association, we have now been active for over five years, and the DZ chapter has been back on campus for five years as well. For both the alumni association and the chapter, this is a challenging time for both entities. The alumni association is in need for more involvement from alumni to help to continue to thrive and survive. With a higher than usual number of graduates this past spring, the chapter is working hard towards a highly successful fall rush, so as to help them grow as an organization. What both entities do the next 3-5 years are going to define what we are as DZ chapter and we will need all the help we can to get the results we want- to remain active and thriving for many years to come. Anyone interested or willing to help out in anyway can personal message or email me at beelledge@gmail.com. Any assistance is greatly appreciated not only from me personally, but also from the DZ chapter that we all pledged to support long ago when we first joined the fraternity for life. Yours in the Bond, Brian Elledge DZ766 Pig Roast 2019-was a success! We had 48 people throughout the weekend. Thank you to all of you who attended Pig Roast. We also appreciate all who helped to make it happen. Food was good as usual. We turned a profit of $360, which is being donated to the chapter to help fund fall rush. Also a special thanks to those who paid alumni association dues and also received a donation to the DZ TKE alumni scholarship by Frater Blake Duckworth.
